What Is a Self-Bunded Diesel Storage Tank?
A self-bunded diesel storage tank is a tank built inside a second outer tank, with the sealed space between the two walls serving as secondary containment — rather than relying on a concrete bund wall constructed separately around it. The same tank is also called a double-wall diesel tank, a double-skin tank, or simply a bunded fuel tank, depending on which standard your project follows.
This double-wall construction makes above-ground diesel storage practical on sites with limited space, tight project schedules, or ground conditions where pouring a concrete containment structure isn’t viable. The interstitial space allows a leak to be detected before diesel ever reaches the soil — and because containment travels with the tank, the unit can be relocated to the next site instead of being abandoned along with its bund.
Solcrest supplies SUMACube Ultra self-bunded diesel tanks manufactured by SUMAC, certified to UL 142, UN 31A/Y, CAN/ULC-S601 and CE. Available in a range of capacities with integrated pump and metered dispensing, they suit construction sites, standby generator fuel supply, fleet refuelling, and industrial diesel storage across the Philippines.
Certified Tanks. Built for Fuel.
Solcrest is the authorized Philippine distributor of SUMAC, bringing certified, engineered self-bunded diesel storage tanks to construction, power generation, and industrial fuel storage projects nationwide.
SUMACube Ultra tanks are certified to UL 142 for above-ground steel fuel tanks, UN 31A/Y for transport of the tank containing product, and CAN/ULC-S601 — independently listed, not self-declared — giving you verified compliance from design through delivery.

Maximum Tank Capacity
Double-wall construction available across the range to suit site refuelling, generator standby, and bulk diesel storage.
Self-bunded diesel storage tanks are built for a wide range of on-site fuel needs — from construction refuelling to standby generator supply and industrial bulk diesel storage.
GRP/FRP sectional tanks are built for a wide range of water storage needs — from residential rooftops to large-scale industrial and fire protection systems.
STANDBY GENERATOR FUEL SUPPLY
Code-compliant diesel reserves for hospitals, data centers, telcos, malls, and commercial towers — secondary containment without surrendering floor area to a concrete bund.
CONSTRUCTION & PROJECT SITES
On-site refuelling for excavators, dozers, and plant equipment — craneable and forklift-portable, so the tank relocates with the project instead of being abandoned at handover.
FLEET & LOGISTICS YARDS
Locked, metered dispensing for trucks and service vehicles — turning fuel cost per vehicle into a measured figure instead of an estimate.
MINING, PLANTATIONS & REMOTE SITES
Bulk diesel storage where the nearest station is hours away — keeping equipment running without daily fuel runs.
POWER & INDUSTRIAL PLANTS
Auxiliary and emergency diesel storage for facilities operating under API and NFPA regimes, where the certification trail is audited.

Specifications & Sizing
SUMACube Ultra tanks are engineered and manufactured to UL 142, the international standard for steel above-ground tanks storing flammable and combustible liquids — third-party listed, giving you a proven benchmark for construction and safety.

Because containment is integral, the installed footprint is the tank itself — no clearance allowance for a surrounding bund wall.
