GRP/FRP Sectional Water Tank Philippines | Solcrest Inc.

Authorized Philippine Distributor of RP Tanks (Malaysia) — Manufacturing Since 1997

What Is a GRP/FRP Sectional Water Tank?

A GRP/FRP sectional water tank is built from individual glass-reinforced or fiber-reinforced plastic panels, bolted together on-site to form a single, watertight storage tank — rather than shipped as one large, pre-formed unit.

This modular, panel-by-panel construction makes sectional tanks ideal for sites with limited access, tight installation timelines, or where a large single-piece tank simply can’t be delivered or maneuvered into place. Each panel can also be replaced individually if damaged, without dismantling the entire tank — a major advantage over one-piece steel or concrete alternatives.

Solcrest supplies GRP and FRP sectional tanks manufactured by RP Tanks (Malaysia), a manufacturer with over 25 years of production experience, available in a wide range of custom sizes and configurations to suit residential, commercial, and industrial water storage needs across the Philippines.

    Specifications & Sizing

RP Tanks’ GRP/FRP sectional tanks are engineered and manufactured to Singapore Standard SS 245:1995, giving you a proven, internationally recognized benchmark for quality and safety.

    Capacity

Tanks are available from 1,000 up to 500,000 litres as standard, with larger capacities possible depending on site evaluation. Because the tank is built panel-by-panel, capacity can be scaled simply by adjusting the number of panels used — no need to commit to a single fixed size upfront.

    Sizing & Panel Dimensions

Each panel measures 1m x 1m, assembled in breadth and length increments of 0.5m or 1.0m, with depth options of 1.0m, 1.5m, 2.0m, 2.5m, 3.0m, 3.5m, or 4.0m — giving flexibility to match almost any footprint or space constraint.

    Material Strength

RP Tanks panels consistently exceed the minimum SS 245:1995 requirements:

    Tensile strength: 100 MN/m² (standard requires >70)
    Bending strength: 150 MN/m² (standard requires >100)
Water absorption: just 0.3% (standard allows up to 1.0%)

In practical terms, this means a tougher, more durable panel with better long-term resistance to water damage than the minimum industry benchmark requires.

    Structural Performance

Panels are pressure-tested well beyond normal operating loads — a 4-meter panel, for example, is rated to withstand pressure of 235.44 kN/m², and roof panels support a 120kg point load, ensuring the tank holds up under real-world conditions, including maintenance foot traffic.

    Water Safety

The panels are non-cytotoxic, tasteless, and odorless, and are tested to not support the growth of coliform, pseudomonas, or fungi — making them safe for long-term potable water storage.

    UV & Color Options

An optional UV-Gard coating is available to prevent color fading from sun exposure, with a range of Pantone color matches — useful for rooftop installations exposed to the Philippine climate.

    Installation & Delivery Process

From site assessment to a fully commissioned tank, here's what the process looks like when you work with Solcrest.

    Step 1: Site Assessment

We evaluate your site conditions, access constraints, and intended application — whether for potable water, fire protection, or industrial use — to determine the right sectional water tank configuration for your project.

Step 2: Custom Sizing & Quotation

Based on the site assessment, we specify your GRP/FRP sectional tank’s panel count, depth, and optional features such as UV-Gard coating or insulated panels, then provide a detailed quotation.

    Step 3: Fabrication

Panels are manufactured by RP Tanks in Malaysia using high-pressure hot compression molding, then quality-checked to Singapore Standard SS 245:1995 before shipment.

    Step 4: Delivery

Panels are shipped flat-packed for efficient transport — a key advantage of sectional water tank construction, especially for sites with limited access or tight installation timelines.

    Step 5: On-Site Assembly

Panels are bolted together on your prepared foundation, reinforced with external and internal bracing, and sealed for a fully watertight finish.

    Step 6: Testing & Commissioning

The completed GRP/FRP sectional tank is pressure-tested and inspected before handover, ensuring it’s ready for immediate, reliable use.
